Spending time outdoors is highly beneficial for children, from improving their immune system, motor skills, social skills, and mental health, to building an early appreciation and concern for the natural environment around us all. This means doing outdoor activities, learning to experience the beauty of nature early and with all senses, learning about the environment (plants, animals, and weather of Canada), navigation, and basic first aid.
Using the Montessori system and learning materials, the kids will learn fine and gross motor skills as well as being introduced to Mathematics (numbers, geometric shapes, measurements), and Literacy (letters and sounds, and sign language to support sound blending). In this way, my program introduces kids ages 4-6 to things they will encounter in elementary school.
The Little Explorers Nature School is Christian. Exploring, working, playing, and learning together as a cooperative team in different ways is encouraged through Christian values like love, kindness, patience, joy, gentleness, compassion, integrity, and an understanding of being there for one another.

Hi, I am Sabine!
(Mrs. Bee🐝)

I was an elementary school teacher in Germany and working with children is my passion. Our family lives on a small acreage just outside of Red Deer surrounded by fields and forest in the quiet and safety of a short no-exit road.
With the forest, backyard, and a playhouse, it is an ideal area for the nature school. In addition, we have an inside space with Montessori material, toys, craft materials and much more.
The program is for a small group of six children at most, which enables more one-on-one care, and the children talk and participate more in smaller groups.
